Labour 2009 Disability pledge. How things have changed

Labour will scrap the Work Capability and Personal Independence Payment
assessments and replace them with a personalised, holistic assessment
process which provides each individual with a tailored plan, building on
their strengths and addressing barriers, whether finance, skills, health, care,
transport, or housing related.
Labour will reverse the cruel cuts to Personal Independence Payments,
Employment Support Allowance Work-Related Activity Group and Universal
Credit Limited Capability to Work and we will repeal the hideous Bedroom
Tax which has punished so many disabled and non-disabled people. The
Conservatives’ punitive sanctions will go too.
It is over 70 years since legislation was first introduced to prohibit employment-
related discrimination against disabled people. Labour will lead the charge for a
fair deal for disabled people in work and beyond.

Topcat, hi. I believe this was Labour's 2015 Disability Manifesto. They then helped the Tories get those cuts over the line and they're all trying to pretend none of that happened.

Maybe I read this wrong sorry for any confusion. I just feel the labour I once knew were more understanding to those in need.

I agree. I followed Parliamentary proceedings in 2015 and I was disgusted at Labour's role in getting those ESA cuts through.
Owen Smith failed to dethrone Jeremy Corbyn but as Shadow W&P Secretary, he actually had to correct Stephen Crabb's closing remarks at the third reading of the Welfare Reform and Work Bill. Angela Raynor was Chief Whip at the time then became Shadow W&P Secretary herself to see those changes put into law.
Perhaps Scope could amend the title, if you agree, Topcat?

Topcat, I am really grateful to you for posting this and just want some clarity from Scope, please, Scope?
I'm sure this was Liz Kendall's baby from the 2015 GE.
