Hi @janice4
A warm welcome to Scope's online community. I'm Sara and one of the Cerebral Palsy Specialist's in Scope's CP Network team.
Experiencing joint pain can be a part of living with Cerebral Palsy, especially as we age. It can impact everyday life and affect well being. However there are ways to limit and manage pain flare up. This can be through gentle exercise, getting plenty of sleep and healthy eating. You can also speak to your GP and ask for a referral to a physiotherapist.
We have a useful article written by Richard Luke the Cerebral Palsy Specialist Lead on Post Impairment Syndrome which explains about changes to our bodies as we age in relation to CP. There is little awareness outside of the CP community, that although our CP doesn't change, the effects of living with the condition can worsen as we age.
We have a great community of support. Please consider joining our CP Network Our team host monthly Zoom meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. It's a space to meet likeminded people where we discuss all aspects of CP, host guest speakers on specific topics and have a general chat.
There is also a network of support on Facebook. The Cerebral palsy Adult Advice page is a great place to meet others and ask questions that others can relate to.
Take care.
