Universal Credit Rent Increase 1st April 2025

Can I please get some assistance in understanding rent increases by housing Association when on Universal Credit. My rent increase yesterday the 1st & everything I have read says wait for a TO _DO on your Universal Credit account to make the change. I have had no notification for a TO-DO & I logged in & nothing showing. When selecting making changes it says to not change rent amount that way & wait for a too-do. My migration took place 10th so I have till the 9th or earlier to make the change for the cut off. Can anyone advise me as to why I haven't had a to-do, whether the housing association will do the update, how to ensure I have done everything I need to. As of yesterday my rent obviously is not updated. There a lot of instructions online about completing the to-do which is simple enough but nothing about what you do if there is no notification or to-do & the account says do not change via change of circumstance. Thank you in advance to any & all who can help me with this stupid & senseless system.

The To-Do generally appears on April 7th as this is when the majority of social housing rents increase.

Thank you so much, would you advice waiting till then?? Assume yes, my cut off is the 9th as applied on the 10th, get paid on the 16th monthly. So just always wait for the (to do) & not panic? You help is much appreciated Kimi

Hello @MarkWzz
Don't worry to much yet. I haven't received the To-Do-List notification yet either on UC. Also, when something is put on your UC account To-Do you should get either an email or text to sign onto your account. If there still is no notification by the 10th of March call 0800 328 5644 and ask when it will be on your list.
Don't forget that UC pays in arrears so your rent may have gone up on 1st April but UC will pay in arrears so any difference for April you will need to use other funds, but you should be back on track in May for your rent.
I hope this helps you. Don't be afraid to ask more questions if you still need help or need more clarification.

If the To Do isn't there yet then you have to wait until it is.
UC need time to verify the amount so you won't see the increase for your 10th March - 9 April AP in your 16 April payment.
The new rent amount will be retrospectively applied to your 10th March - 9th April AP.
Once the new rent has been verified UC will upload a letter to your Journal confirming the amount you are owed due to underpayment. The money will then arrive into your bank account a few working days later.
