Can i cancel a MR?

Hello,
I called dwp and requested a mandatory reconsideration and told them that I would write to them explaining why I should have scored more points on DL descriptors (current award standard DL and enhanced Mob).
I am now worried sick that my current award may be reduced or taken away. I also don’t have enough time to write a thorough MR. My questions are:Can I cancel my MR?Would there be any repercussions in doing so?
Thank you

Hi, I think you definitely could cancel but I'm concerned that you are just feeling overwhelmed. Not surprising and very understandable.
Can you get some support with the MR? CAB or turn2us?
I should have challenged mine but honestly I was too ill to do anything at the time.
Please don't worry, you could cancel if you wanted to do that.
Best wishes. x

Hi @Fii
You can choose to withdraw your request for a mandatory reconsideration if you change your mind or no longer wish to proceed with the review. You can do this by contacting the DWP and explaining that you no longer wish to proceed with the mandatory reconsideration.

Thank you @justsaying2025 and @Mary_Scope.
My GP sent off the medical information the dwp requested after I was already awarded PIP. I don’t know what my GP has sent and I am worried in case it goes against me.
Even If I cancel my MR would the dwp still look at the information my GP provided and use it to reduce or take my award away?
It is too late to contact cab for support.

Another question if anyone can help with please.
I was recently awarded CB ESA and I am in the support group. I get carers allowance (for providing non physical help to someone with autism) I obviously don’t receive the payment anymore as they are overlapping benefits. Should I cancel my CA claim?
Thank you.
