I’m a disabled person who joined in January 2025, initially just out of curiosity, but looking back, it was one of the best decisions I made. I’ve been on other forums before but didn’t find them as welcoming—there was a lot of negativity and judgment, especially around long-term conditions and benefits. But here, it’s completely different. People are understanding, non-judgmental, and many of us are facing similar challenges.
I was like you at first-quite shy and more of a lurker-but within a few days, I started engaging, and it’s been such a positive experience. If you ever need to discuss something privately, Scope also has a helpline where you can call, email, or chat online. I’ve personally used their email support and found it really helpful.

Our community is public, so anything you post can be seen by others, but please don't let that stop you posting. We try to make sure it feels safe and that everyone feels comfortable posting about the things they need to talk about.
As noonebelieves mentioned, our helpline is there if you need some advice or someone to talk to privately. They're very friendly and would be more than happy to help with anything you're going through.

Sorry to hear that @kamuran. Do you receive any benefits at the moment? You might like to have a look at a benefits calculator to see if there's anything you can claim to help you with your bills.

They can often help with energy and water bills if you're struggling to pay 😊

No unfortunately that's not true. Cost of Living payments ended last year.
