in Universal Credit (UC)

hi, I’m currently on a single claim.
I have found a new property which tenancy starts 7th April, I will be moving in with my partner ( we are both on tenancy for new property) but will not be moving in until end of April as work needs to be done & I still have the rest of the month in my current property (live on my own with children) do I report change of address 7th April & start a joint claim? Or when I move in at the end of April.

    You have to report the change when you move in. UC can only handle changes that have happened, not future ones.

    Thank you.
    So if I move in 18th April I won’t get into any trouble reporting it that date? Although tenancy will be signed 7th? And start my joint claim 18th also?

    UC are only interested after you've moved in for both the rent liability and your change in relationship status.
