Depression and suicide ideation

I have experienced both depression and suicide ideation for over 40 years.
I acquired 2 cats last November and they have done wonders for my mental heath.
The cats are sisters and they are definitely a pair of characters.

Pets do help, my dog certainly helps when I'm really bad. Glad you found little furry friends to help you

Welcome to the forum, @Jampa
I had the same going on, so got a puppy mini now tweenie dachs last August on the advice of my GP, for the breed & getting another dog sooner rather than later. Never been without dogs until three years before I got my pupster, it was always my plan to get another & she has helped no end, still taking the tabs, but hopefully, will come off them in the next few months or so. Pets are invaluable to brighten moods, mental health & life in general. 💖

And that is why I've had a life filled with dogs, birds, and other little beings. Someone else needs you ,it's a firm focus. I'm the v same regarding the depression ,anxiety ,panic disorder. My Dogs are a calming influence and come to me right away when they sense my "change". 58 yrs of being dog obsessed has definitely had major benefits

Hey there @Jampa and welcome to the community from me too. 😊
I always have to have multiple pets, as you said they really do wonders for our mental health. ❤️ Do you have any photos of your furry friends you could share with us? I'd love to see them.

They are! But they are a little crazy as well. Especially around bed time.

Oh looks at those beautiful faces! ❤️
They definitely look like they enjoy the late night zoomies. 😆0 -
Yes they do. I wonder hom they would like me waking them up during the day?

You should totally get your own back on them if they keep you awake at night. 😆

Cats are great, I have 3 , one from a kitten, one ex feral and one ex stray. I used to have a dog, but after she passed. I decided on getting another cat, I already had the kitten. I can't walk far so decided on cats. The ex feral and stray appeared in the gardens, both not chipped and not neutered. So I took them on,
