Carers allowance and council tax reduction

Hi both myself and my wife are disabled and are on universal credit and pip each and we are both carers for each other and so receive carers allowance so what I need to ask is does this affect our council tax reduction in any way

Each local authority has different rules for Council Tax Reduction, so it's very hard to advise on individual cases from here.

Hi @frognik and welcome to the forum! 😊 I haven't been through this myself, but from what I can see, it depends on your overall income and individual councils specifications. I've added a link where you can add your postcode to locate your local council and apply for a discount which hopefully is helpful - Apply for a Council Tax discount - GOV.UK
