I received a letter from dwp saying it looks like I am entitled to sdp I ticked the revelent boxes and returned it they have awarded me sdp and backdated to feb but I have been eligible since June 2021 I have asked them for a mandatory reconsideration will I get it backdated

In my opinion from seeing other posts, you have a good chance of being awarded the backdate but we cannot on the forum answer for certain either way.
If they refuse after a MR you can then appeal to an independent appeal tribunal.

thank you the man on phone said I was supposed to claim for it but everywhere I look it says it should be paid automatically
