Worsening back and neck pain

Got so bad yesterday at work was in agony with my neck and me being terrified of ringing in sick at Easter as i work in a supermarket asked my dad to ring up work for me ,I never used to be so anxious, prescription painkilkers are not doing much

Hi @Rik I'm so sorry, I can empathise as I live with anxiety and it can often take over. It's good you've got your Dad to make the call for you, hopefully you feel a bit more reassured once he's done that and let you know how it went. Have you thought about speaking to your GP about your painkillers? They might not be able to look at alternative options for you.
Also, have you spoken to anybody about the support available for your anxiety? It's something your GP might be able to help with too. I hope you're now able to rest a bit now.

Sorry, I've just had another thought. Is your back and neck something that's ongoing and if so, is there anything work can do to support you. It may be worth asking them about an occupational health assessment where your employer arranges for a third party speaks to you, and feeds back suggestions to your work to better support your need. I've had one of these before and found it very supportive.

Yes it's ongoing ,it started about 3 month ago and was doing exercises from the doctor and it started getting a bit better then came back worse about a month back ,ive tried painkillers different painkillers from doctor, it was the most painful its been yesterday ,been referred for a msk clinic assessment which is on the 9th may
