ESA and UC
Hi,
I'm Tom or argh I am new here and this is my 1st post.
I received a migration letter to transfer from ESA (Support group) to Universal credit.
I have been on ESA for about16 years and also get PIP at the higher rate for both daily living and mobility, my last assessment was in 2018 for the PIP.
I have done everything UC have asked of me and had to phone some helpline for a reason I have forgotten, they told me that I will still be getting ESA and told me a fortnightly amount.
I thought everything was sorted as I was told I would find out how much UC I would receive on the 22/04/25 then be paid on the 26th.
Yesterday 16/04 I had an email to tell me to look at my journal for a telephone appointment on 24/04/25 to agree a new style ESA allowance commitment, It also mentions I made a claim for it.
I can only assume the call I made when I was told that my ESA would continue that whoever I spoke to made a claim ???
After receiving this information I rang the ESA helpline 58 mins to get through and a very nice lady told me I am better off claiming the ESA as well as UC and told me the amount I will be paid on the 28/04.
Also, I need to mention that I received a letter dated 01/04 telling me that my ESA would end as I have made a claim for UC.
Needless to say, I am confused by all this and would hope that someone could help me with this PLEASE!!
