Managed Migration

Hello,

I need to ask a few questions as I have just received a Migration Notice. I am on Income Related Employment and Support Allowance and in the Support Group.

  1. Do I need to get a fit note when I've made the application?
  2. How do I make an appointment to process my claim at Job Center?
  3. Will I be able to take ID or have biographical questions to job center if I have problems verifying online?
  4. Do you still get 2 weeks run on of legacy benefits.
  5. How do I declare more than one bank account?

I ask because I don't know if anything has changed in regards to fit notes. It says you don't need one on Government website but that was 30th August last year. Sorry for rambling. I have been through a bad couple of days with my nerves. My Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support got cancelled through an error in the system and I was sent a bill for full amount. I got sorted but left me feeling very unwell.

Thanks for any replies.

    1. No
    2. You apply for UC, either online (recommended) or by phone. Actual Job Centres are not involved with the initial application.
    3. Yes.
    4. Yes.
    5. The application form is set up to accept details of more than one bank account if you have multiple.

    Hello,

Thank You for your reply. I always thought you needed to have your claim processed at the Job Center after submitting your application. With ID.

I'm still a bit anxious and tend to take a while to fully get to grips with something new. I haven't had to claim anything new in a long time.

You make the initial application by phone or online.

    Then you verify id.

This would be first tried online, if that fails an appointment would be made to visit the Job Centre with ID or have a biographical phone call.

So the answer to question 2 is:

The claimant would wait to receive an appointment in either of those cases.
