Hello,

I wonder if you could assist me, I recently received my migration notice, to migrate to UC deadline date 1st July 2025, during this time, I also received a letter that I had been overpaid last year overpayment amount was over £4000!! Stress levels through the roof, I had informed DWP last year of wha I was doing, I’m currently in receipt of ESA in the WRAG group. I contacted citizens advice, managed to get an appointment, took all my paperwork in with me, CA adviser didn’t hold out much hope, which I must admit wasn’t very encouraging! However, they did contact the overpayments section, spoke to someone from the department, she called up my details, then proceeded to inform us that she couldn’t find any anomalies on my record and couldn’t understand as to why I received the letter informing me that I was overpaid ESA last year!! So I have to wait on a phone call within the next 5 days, and request a MR!! I’m somewhat confused!

Any help or advice that anyone can provide would be most welcomed and how does this go with my migration deadline!! Thank you for your time and for your patience in reading my rather long post, thus far.

Kind regards,

M.

    Hi,

As long as you are still entitled to income based ESA right now, you can continue the UC migration as normal. The deadline remains the same.

Can't really offer any advice on the overpayment if ESA don't even know what it's for. Hopefully that's just an error and will get sorted out quickly.

Many thanks OverlyAnxious for your quick response, and for your advice keeping my fingers crossed that it has been an error on their part🤞
