this is probably a really silly question but here goes lol 😂
Is the lcwra side of uc
Classed still as income ( with it being a health element of uc I wasn’t sure )
The only reason I ask is Before I was awarded lcwra I filled out some forms with the local council housing officer as am struggling to pay the bedroom tax so I filled a form out for temporary help with it
The forms are still going through for a decision on this
I did fill the same forms out before April and was awarded help for bedroom tax for that month
Now I’ve been awarded lcwra will I lose that help now as money has increased ….
Mabe I’m getting it mixed up with pip being not classed as income or is lcwra the same 🤦♀️
I will contact the council about it tomorrow but I just wondered if anyone knew
Save me looking like an idiot when I speak with them lol 😂
I did tell the council I was waiting on a desision regarding a reply from my wca so they’re aware of that.

You are talking about a Discretionary Housing Payment.
These are funds controlled by each local authority. As different areas set their own rules, it's impossible to advise on individual cases from here.

yes that’s what I mean, discretionary housing payment, ok thank you for replying
I will contact the local housing about it in the morning.
I think the bedroom tax is the worst thing that has been put in place for people. It causes hardship, and all my local council try to do is convince me to move out of the house I’ve lived in for 25 years and into a flat or bedsitI’m trying my best to keep hold of the house
As far as I know as long as the rent is being payed they can’t move me
But thank you I will be getting in touch with them tomorrow .
ty for taking the time to reply. X0
