Pip

Hi all
In February I put in a claim for pip for my Crohn's disease diagnosis.
2 weeks ago a assessor called me without notice saying she'd like to do the assessment there and then and was hoping to bypass a further assessment and just base it on my form and the conversation we had on the phone.
She was thankfully a nurse who worked with people with Crohn's disease so I'm hoping this went in my favour speaking with someone that actually understood my condition.
Today I received a text from pip which I think was a automated message saying they've still not made a decision...is this normal procedure or a good or bad sign?
Thankyou 🙂

normal. Neither bad nor good.

So it sounds like PIP haven't received your assessment report yet (you had what's known as a paper based assessment).
Sometimes assessments go to audit within the assessment provider, this is an internal process and can delay DWP getting the report. Unfortunately no timescales.
You could enquire with the health assessment agency and see what's going on.

Thanks Kimi
Do you mean call the pip number to enquire?
Are paper based assessment a good or bad sign?
Thanks again 👍

Also the message I received said only to contact them if my circumstances have changed

No you need to contact the Health Assessment Provider who did your assessment.
I personally don't have a view on whether a paper based assessment is good or bad sign.

Thankyou. How do I contact the health assessment provider? I wasn't given any contact details for her

If you use the link I gave, it lists which health assessment provider covers each area of the country, and the contact details.
