My fortnightly ESA (+SDP) payment is typically £489.30. I noticed I had a shockingly low ESA payment of £34.95 yesterday.

I can see on my UC Home tab that my first UC payment is due on 15th May.

Should I be worried that they have messed this up, or will it all balance out?

I figure many of you will have already gone through this process and can advise just how concerned I should be.

Your Income Related ESA ended once you claimed UC, apart from one final payment, known as the run on payment.

Depending on where you were in your ESA payment cycle it isn't always for the full amount.

As the ESA rates also changed a few days prior to your UC claim- it's possible this might impact your final ESA payment. They potentially might send two payments.

The only way to properly know is to ring ESA and ask them.

UC is paid one month in arrears and is based on your circumstances for the previous calender month, known as Assessment Period.

Your first UC payment will cover your April - May AP.
