Housing

Hi I'm a pensioner who supports my son who has autism, he lives independently with my help. The issue we have is that he has copd asthma & high blood pressure. I have tried unsuccessfully to have him rehoused to a ground floor flat or bungalow with 2 bedrooms, so that I can have overnight stays with him because of his anxiety.i have been trying for the last 6 months without success. Could anyone advise me on the best way forward?

Hi Humbug. Have you had an occupational therapist assess him and write a report to support the need?

Hi yes he did have one, but that was a few years ago, he now has other health issues. Copd asthma high blood pressure. I presented letters to his housing association from care professionals. Which don't seem to have been taken on board. They now want he to be assessed by a medical officer from the local council. The thing is aswell is he is getting anxious, I can't stay overnight with him because there is nowhere for me to sleep. Because of his Autism he is finding things difficult.
