housing benefit suspended because of UC claim..

Hi, Can someone explain this for me, Do I need to be concerned, I am migrating over to UC from ESA, Not working and LWCRA, Waiting to see how much I will get off UC by may 24. Today, I got a letter saying. ''Dear Miss ****** We understand you are not in receipt of Universal credit, Your housing benefit has been suspended from todays date until we establish whether you are titled to a transitional payment, we will write to you shortly if any additional payments are due to you.'' What does this mean in reality? Is housing benefit being replaced by my UC? Will it be started again when they know more about my UC? I do pay full rent but get a certain amount paid to me to help with that to my bank account. It doesn't say I have to do anything but I am worried. Thanks.

Yes for those of working age, unless you are in supported/sheltered housing, your rent will now be paid via Universal Credit Housing Element.

Thanks for explaning again Kim, I have no chance of working and have told them that, But I pay my rent fully anyway, Does it just mean the 288 I get from My council to help me will just be paid via UC now? I pay my landlord myself via direct debit
