Do I Get Council Tax Reduction

Hi, just filling in my UC migration details.

I got asked if I applied for Council Tax Reduction.

I don't actually pay the tax as I'm on benefits and had a lot of help applying for whatever I receive as I moved into independent living from supported living.

My bill says - Charge for period Band A = xxxx

25% Discount - 1 Adult Resident = xxxx

Council Tax Support = xxxx

I clicked "YES" that I received a reduction but then began to second guess myself. Now I don't seem to be able to return to click "NO" if I've made a mistake.

Thanks for any advice.

Yes you already receive Council Tax Reduction so you answered correctly.

If you need to edit anything you can do this after you've answered all the questions.

    Thanks Kimi, you're a star.

Hopefully this will be my last question.

My benefits got paid in today, took some money but the machine had no receipts so I'm just going out again to check my balance.

If I have say £150 in my account today will it be classed as "savings" in my application and will it affect what I receive in the future?

Again, thanks for all your help.

You need to declare anything you have in all bank accounts when applying.

Anything under £6k they are not bothered by.

Oh dear, yet another strange question.

Have you lived in care in England, Scotland or Wales?

I lived in supported housing over 10 years ago before moving into independent living.

I don't see the relevance of the question and don't really want to answer but don't know if it will affect my claim.

    Any advice appreciated.

Citizens Advice offer a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after the claim, they are available on the phone or webchat

Hello @Charlie1962. This is asking if you are a care leaver and would apply to looked after children who are now adults or claiming UC. For example children in foster care or group homes. Supported living for disability would not normally fall into this category unless it was also under a care arrangement.
