help as we confussed

we a couple who clain uc my husband get the 400 for being in not able to work group.he reitres next year and i retire in 8 years.i understand we still get uc till we both retire but does he get all elements of it like being not able to work or do we lose it.does he still claim his pension or is this defered also til both can retire

Mixed age couples are quite a complex area for benefit advice, so you might want to talk to a trained benefits advisor.

Hi @gingershaz - & welcome to the forum. Just to add to what kimi has advised, as what's termed a 'mixed age couple,' your UC will continue as if you were both of working age once your husband reaches State Pension Age (including any element such as LCWRA that he currently receives). Do let UC know once your husband reaches State Pension age.
When your husband reaches State Pension Age he can indeed claim his State pension, however this will then be deducted in full from your UC. It doesn't help for him to defer his State Pension as it would still be considered as if he was receiving it as income. Hope this may help.
