Also meant so I would have 3k plus 100 but would I then add the 700 would that make my total 3.8k and on the 31st I spent like 600 which then I would have 3.2k would I then add 700 to the 3 2k so it would be 3.9k I'm so stupid I just thought I only needed to declare savings if over 6k not everything together

WWhat I Have been doing which is probs wrong I did 1st to the 31st 3k then add what was left in my bank on the 31st but not add the 700 as I was just adding all the money I had in my normal account for the month like 700 then at end of 31st I had 100 left that would mean I had 3.1k and then do the same every month is this wrong please help I'm so stressed cos of not declaring my savings account

    X

Hi @sophie2002, if your savings are below £6k, there usually won't be a problem. Even if your savings go above £6k, your payments wont stop, they will just adjust them slightly to allow for the change. It sounds like you've always been below £6k so hopefully all will be fine ☺️

Is your review call soon? They should be able to explain things then.

I know it's not easy when you're worried, but try not to visit lots of sites looking for information. It can get really confusing to have all sorts of different information and might add to the worry.

    Hope you're okay!

I need time sent all statements off by 13th so I'm going to send then on Monday the 12th as I just need to get everything sorted just need to download my PayPal

I've try to work something out if my ap is 1st to 30th and my pay is on the 7th of checking my bank statements for the 7th as it updates previous balance and if there's no more money going in I just add that to me balance and that's my total am I correct xx and thank-you I've left reddit cos they were giving me no answers to my questions I just want a yes or now about adding it all up please xx

There isn't a yes or no answer to that unfortunately.

When you update savings on the UC journal, it asks you for each individual account separately. So you don't have to add up anything yourself. Just put the exact number down for each account on the last day of your AP (30th).

For the review it doesn't matter because the UC staff will put in all the information for you from the bank statements. And then you won't need to update it again unless your savings ever go over £6000.

OK so do it from the 30th not the 7th add my amount and the amount it my savings I will do both but I know I'm defo not over 6k on both accounts doing it from the 7th to the 1st if that makes sense even the government website is confusing I've just had to purchase my mum a phone so that's some of my saving down now but I will have all receipts if they need it it's on my argos app xx

Yes, it's always the last day of the AP that matters for this, not the payment date.

In your case, the final date will change because there aren't 31 days in every month. So sometimes it will be 30th. And in February it'll be 28th, or 29th on a leap year. But it is always the final date of the AP that matters. 🙂

Yes, just add up everything you have on the 30th. Every account. If it is less than £6000 altogether then you don't need to do anything.

You don't need to do anything on the 7th. Only the 30th.

Thankyou for giving me this advise im that ocd and proper paranoid ive been going back really far to see if it went over 6k

so on the 30th if say i have 150pounds and in my savings I have 3k is this all I add together at the end of the month my bank statement tells me whats left is this the correct amount I put in I have dipped in my savings I bought myself a new phone and a new bed and matress as mine were old springs sticking in my back my phone was water damaged so bought a new 1 I have receipts for all these there all argos will they ask why I spent some savings or won't they care its not been given away etc I've bought things I needed I've not really been out in months my mental health has been bad and haven't slept properly for months so I bought online.

    AGAIN THANKYOU

nobody was giving me a proper answer they were all different answers so again what I have left in my main bank on the 30th and in my savings add together and that's my grand total for my ap and not to add the 727 on the 7th from uc is this right xx

Yes, that's right. That would be £3150 total in that example.

Part of the review is about checking some transactions. So they probably will ask about a few things. They might ask about the bed or phone, but both of those are perfectly acceptable so just tell them the truth if they do ask.

Definitely don't add the £727 from UC. Only whatever is left on the 30th. (Like £150 in your example.)
