The wealthy would be OK with paying more tax - in fact some are campaigning for it.
If 'The Rich' support an increase in their tax..
What is government afraid of?

I still can't see this country adopting the 'Nordic Method' and taking note of countries that have high taxes, make it harder for people to become billionaires and actually have very good public services & social housing..

They're afraid of wealthy people leaving the UK to avoid tax.
And it is difficult to administer because many wealthy people aren't cash rich - their money is invested in expensive art and various assets which aren't easy to value.
And - taxing the rich has been tried in other European countries and it hasn't worked.

If they're not paying tax what does it matter anyway? Let them leave.

Richard Burgon has a petition on Change.org to tax the wealthy instead of punishing the poorest and disabled. I can't put the link up here for some reason. Perhaps you could put it up here on a separate thread. Over 50,000 have already signed it. We need many more to.

The fact that the highest paying countries have the best public health, public transport etc suggests that it does and can work..

But yes, if you allow loopholes, and the minority to own the majority of assets, funds etc.. Then it doesn't work.:)2 -
