Hi @sparkies, welcome to the community ☺️

Sorry to hear you had this experience with your PIP call. Did you ask for the call to be recorded ahead of time, or was it just when the call was happening that you asked?

    Hi Rosie

I asked to record it straight after giving my name and date of birth

the letter appointment for the assessment just says if you would like to have this recorded as us at the time of interview

nothing else discussed she rang as me for my name and dob I then asked could we record she said I was to late I needed to ask before I gave my details

I have never had a phone assessment but I thought you had to give 48 hours notice to the assessment company that you want it recording? Sometime they don't have the equipment anyway. Try not to worry about it, I can't understand why the assessor didn't start again and recorded it, you had only given your name and DOB? It is possible they did not have the equipment.

Keep us informed and ask for a copy of the assessors report or assessment report!

You usually request to record in advance because they need to have everything set up on the day etc. So that's probably why they said no.

In all honesty though when I recorded mine with permission, the HCP purposely mumbled so when you listened to the tape you can't even hear him properly anyway and not only that, he still told lies in his report.
