PIP/Attendance Allowance

If on my next PIP assessment (after Nov 2026) I lose the care side will I be able to apply for Attendance Allowance as I will then be a pensioner? I am asking this question as reading all the hype I am not sure if I will get 4 points in any one item (all 3 points which add up at the moment but will not count under the new system). Thanks

Thank you for the quick answer. I have just been reviewed and they dropped me from 17 points on the care side to 8 points so I have dropped to the standard amount. I do not understand how as my health has got worse during the last few years not better. I am sending in a Mandatory reconsideration. I had a telephone assessment which was very difficult as I was not able to understand the assessor (foreign) and she kept interrupting me and got me confused. Also things were put down that I never said. I have put this all down on the reconsideration but after talking to the DWP I am panicking. This is why I was wondering if I could apply for Attendance allowance. Can you have mobility PIP and Attendance allowance?? Thanks

Strongly suggest you seek help & advice from local welfare rights
You cannot get both PIP & AA.

Concentrate on now! To drop from 17 points to 8 and your condition is worse is a disgrace. Put in the MR as you are doing. What did the DWP say to make you panick? Try not to worry as the proposed changes are just that - proposed! As Kimi as stated, get some help. You can mention some of the inaccuracies on your MR but don't overdo it, concentrate on why should should keep the 17 points, detailing how your disability affects you day to day.

I am 66 in October will my PIP change from a 3 year award to a light touch as I will then be a pensioner?? I am still awaiting a reply regarding the MR.

When you reach State Pension age on PIP, your current award automatically switches to an "indefinite" award and you get "light touch" reviews. Hope you are successful with the MR.
