Any suggestions gratefully received !
My brother (Paul) is 66 and receives state pension and housing benefit for current his rented flat.
He lives in a different London Borough to me but his health is poor so we’ve agreed that if possible he could mive nearer to me in new rented accommodation but in this (my )London Borough.
( Prior to receiving his state pension he was on long term ESA ( previousy Incapacity Bemefit)
As he is on state pension I’m wondering if he would end his HB in his present London borough (for his previous rented flat) and then instead make a new claim in my London borough when he hopefully moves to a new rented flat here?
I’m wondering how he’d get help for his new rent here? I have a feeling HB would not available for the new flat? If he wouldn’t be eligible for HB which benefit (if any) might he receive for the new flat in addition to his state pension?
Thanks for reading 😊

As he is state pension age it is housing benefit he would need to claim. Yes he would need to end his current claim and then apply to whichever borough he will be living in.
