Letter from DWP about my CB ESA

in Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

hello I'm very I've received a letter from the DWp as I requested a copy of my entitlement for my New Style ESA award as never got upon migrating to UC

they have sent me the following


Your entitlement details

You were awarded CB ESA

Entitlement start date 01/09/2011

current amount £140.55 weekly

I asked for a copy of my NS support status since migrating to UC

This letter states the CB side from 2011

I'm very very confused and worried as I was claiming both IR CB ESA and only found this out upon migration to UC


help please anyone and thank you in advance

    The letter says it's a DWPLOEA on it and also to add I don't think I claimed ESA CB it was incapacitybenefit that I was awarded indefinitely at the tribunal all so confusing….

    When Incapacity Benefit ended people were moved onto CB ESA with an IR top up if applicable.

    2011 will refer to the date your Incapacity Benefit changed into Contributions Based ESA.

    Thank you @Kimi87 I just wondered why this was sent when I asked for a copy of my NS ESA support group status upon migration to UC as I asked for this as I'd not received this ? Thank you for you hel it's so confusing the letters are not easy…..

    @Kimi87 my migration to UC happened in February it was only then I found out I was on both IR & CB the IR has go to LWCRA in UC and the CB has gone into NS ESA which is the £281.10 per fortnight which is deducted from UC I get the impression they have sent this instead of the NS ESA award I don't understand why?

    It sounds like a standard proof of benefit letter.

    If you wanted something that mentions New Style ESA, Support Group you'd have to get back in touch with them and be extremely specific about what you need.

    thank you again @Kimi87 I think I wasn't so specific I'm thinking the NS support group award from migration will get posted out eventually should this come at some point or would you suggest I ring the JCP on the number on the letter
