hello, i wondered if anyone could advise me, i am living in Scotland and i am Mum and fulltime carer for my adult son he's 34 he has cerebral palsy and multiple complex needs, i am his named appointee,….. a couple of days ago i checked his u.c journal and there was a message asking for 4 months bank statements and also photo id…. he does not have photo id apart from his national entitlement card for bus etc issued from council , and also as his named appointee his benefits are paid in to my bank account these are part of the Scottish appointeeship requirements since some of his benefits are paid by the devolved gov i.e. PIP is now ADP and my carers allowance is also paid by Scottish gov as that is also a devolved payment …and my income support soon to migrate to UC also goes in to my account ….. i make sure that whatever my son needs/wants/requires is provided without question, but my query is as we choose to use Clearpay a lot during the month for various things some small some quite large will (its a good way for us to budget for things we couldnt normally afford) …. will i be questioned /Judged on this? and also because all the benefits for myself and son go in to the same account although at different times of the month how will it work as far as them looking in to the amount going in to the account… as his adp&uc goes in to the bank and also income support and carers for me, and there are a few payments from friends in my account not large amounts but thats nothing to do with my son …. this is causing extreme anxiety and havent slept properly in a couple of days I'm really worried and would be very grateful for any information /advice on this please.. (( i have left a message in sons journal explaining he has only got entitlement card with photo on as id and also explained that benefits ect are paid in to my account and that i am his named appointee that was the day we were asked for information , but havent had any reply as yet and time is ticking away and only have a certain amount of time to provide details they requested )) please help …….

Hey there @sleepydragon and welcome to the community.

Please try not to panic about the compliance interview, many many people are having them currently. It's all randomised so they don't think you've done anything wrong. The bank statements will be looked over and they may ask about any large purchases, but their main reason is to make sure you're not regularly transferring large amounts overseas and other dodgy things that could indicate fraud. As for the ID, I'd have thought the entitlement card would be ok?
