This years theme is Community so what better way to end this weeks Mental Health posts than with this theme and a poem from one of our very own community members; @Globster

A number of hands holding up the letters to community. The letters are a variety of colours.

Community provides us with a sense of belonging, support, and identity. All of these things contribute to our mental wellbeing. A community can provide support, especially when we're going through a tough time or feeling alone, having people to turn to for advice and practical help and emotional support can make the world of difference to us.

It also provides us with a shared sense of belonging. When part of a community, we learn and share with one another. It provides us with a place in the world, and part of something important.

There are a number of ways to connect with people. And these don't always have to be face-to-face. Take our community for instance.

Online community written in purple on a yellow background. To the right, 2 messages boxes (green and white)

I've listed some more types of communities below:

  • Joining a club or organisation where people share your values and identity.
  • Support groups led by mental health professionals such as 12 step programmes which will help reduce stress and promote mental health.
  • Volunteering your time
  • Attending community events or getting to know your neighbours or colleagues

Sometimes the idea of finding a community can be very daunting but it's well worth the effort providing you with a place for connection, support, and belonging.

We'd like to take a moment to thank EACH and EVERY one of out fantastic community members that contribute so much to this community. We appreciate you so much! 💜

And with that being said, here's a poem called Mental Health Week by our very own @Globster!

"Our Mental Health Week helps to raise awareness, seeks to help those struggling with their mental health, offer a hand of support, and reminds you that these are always for you and remind you are amazing in your own right, keep your head your tears may have run dry.

Never be shy to ask for the help we need with our mental health, as we need to.

We need to use mental health to shine a light on the wonderful people who are doing and with continue to do.

Keep burning bright, my beautiful gems and join our stand together as we are all here for each other, and please never feel alone, and own because we are here to lend our ear to listen to you because sparkling beautiful people in your inspiration knights in your unbelievable strength and power that you have towarderd and shown against adverity and feeling with hope and possibility can be that shoting star once again."
