Benefits

Hi iwas on esa support group unable to work. Was told i had to migrate on to universal credit as esa was ending. Uc have messed up payments to landlord and myself, so just trying to sort that and i get a letter to say got app with work coach to explain what i need to do to complete claim for newstyle esa. I thought esa had ended and that's why i had to move to uc. I need to explain how my disability affects why i can't work. I'm so overwhelmed by it all but feel trapped as i'm not in a postion to just go out and get a full time job. They never make these things easy or straight forward.

Hi,
This happens to a lot of people.
Your old ESA was part contributions based. So when you move to UC, you will also get New Style ESA as well as UC. Only the income based ESA has ended.
You don't need to go through a work related assessment. That is just a generic letter. You will need to accept commitments for NS ESA, but that is usually done over the phone.
