UC WCA questions.
- How likely is it now that those of us who get lcwra and PIP and haven't been reassessed for UC in a few years, will be reassessed? I heard something about by 2028 your PIP assessment will be enough to count for UC too. Having just been reawarded PIP am I likely to have another UC assessment?
- It says on the WCA form that you shouldn't request new medical evidence for a UC reassessment, but should just send whatever medical evidence you have already. Is this right? What if the medical evidence you have is a few years old already? I have copies of the medical letters written for my PIP award, but they focus on the PIP descriptors. Would these be suitable to use for a UC reassessment?
I prepared my PIP re-assessment stuff a year in advance and if I'm going to be re-assessed for UC I want to do the same. I can't wait until they tell me I'm going to be re-assessed and then get stressed, rushing, trying to sort it all out in a short time when I don't feel well. I want to have it all ready and prepared well in advance.

Hi @Aella so sorry you haven't heard back on this. Have you made any progress with this in the meantime?

It's very odd that they say you can't send new medical evidence, what if you don't already have any medical evidence, or what if a new illness has come up?
I'm sure this was said or it was something similar in my WCA form in 2019, I didn't already have any medical evidence so I sent off for some and then sent it with the form, I thought 'Well the chances are I'll be classed as fit for work which is what usually happens, maybe if I just send them the medical evidence anyway it might work in my favour, surely it can't make things worse?'

I mean, I'm not currently being reassessed, I'm just wondering how to prepare in case I do get reassessed.
