New PIP claim

Hi all,
Posting here mainly for support while I'm awaiting a decision
I'm in the LCWRA group for UC (migrated from ESA) and decided to apply for PIP at the end of April for social anxiety, depression and generalised anxiety
Filled in the form online and uploaded 3 GP letters (one new one) and 2 which were written back when I claimed ESA. Also, uploaded screenshot from GP record showing I take 45mg Mirtazapine for anxiety & depression,, Levothyroxine for underactive thyroid, and Mebeverine for IBS
I got a text from HAAS saying my form was with the assessment provider last week. Yesterday, I received the following text:
"We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you."
This is very quick given I only applied about 3 weeks ago. But from what I've read it means they've done a paper based assessment? All without even a phonecall or f2f?
Anxiety is now playing up and thinking a text to say I've been turned down for PIP is imminent! I try to read into everything with my anxiety and drive myself nuts
No idea if it's a good thing it's been done paper based so quick - my anxiety is telling me it must mean they've decided I don't qualify fairly quick! Always have to go for the most negative option with my anxiety

Hi @erialc80 I think this may be an automated message from HAAS to confirm the paperwork's been passed on. It may still take a little while for the review. I can completely understand why that might make you feel anxious though. I know it's easier said than done sometimes, but try to find something to take your mind off it as much as possible whilst you're waiting for them to come back to you.

It reads to me you have had a paper based assessment as you have sent in enough information about your disabilities that a phone assessment is not needed. This does happen at times. Also there have been other members of this forum with a very quick outcome when they have applied for PIP.
Try and stay calm and relax! Negative thoughts go hand in hand with anxiety, especially with anything to do with PIP... Cancel those negatives out with positive thoughts - you have sent in enough information and you are going to get a quick result!!! Fingers crossed!

Hi @chiarieds @Trevor_PIP & @Holly_Scope, thank you for your replies
Feeling very anxious atm, received a missed call from 0800 0800 023 2635 this afternoon. They called back and I answered, it was a lady and she asked me my date of birth, address if I claim any other benefits and what bank I use
The call lasted just 1 minute 18 seconds and after confirming those details, she said something about it was to process my claim got PIP and I would get a letter in 1-2 weeks
No idea why she would ring to just ask me my address, date of birth, bank and any other benefits?
Very worried and my heart is racing. Convinced myself the fact she asked for just those details and didn't say if I've been awarded or not means it will be a rejection
The only thing I know for certain is it's a paper assessment because I got the text saying they had received the report
I didn't ask any other questions on the call as my heart was racing

Hi @erialc80 thanks for keeping us updated. I know it's easy for me to say, but I wouldn't worry too much at this point. It's likely a standard call to check some key details, and make sure you exist and are who you say you are 🙂
I hope you're able to relax a little more this evening and fingers crossed you hear some good news back soon 🤗
Best wishes,

I agree with Holly, they need to know it is you on the phone. In addition, you can get a call asking questions and bank details prior to shortly getting a PIP award. Fingers crossed! Keep calm and relax, not long to wait now and I think it has got a positive feel about it.

Hi @Holly_Scope @Trevor_PIP, thank you both so much for replying to me. It really helps :)
Got a text at 8:02am this morning saying I've been awarded PIP :) if I've done the automated phone line correct, it says my next payment will be £558.40. I think I've been awarded enhanced daily living and standard mobility which is roughly what I hoped to get :)
Shows that my anxiety in thinking the call yesterday meant I'd be rejected was literally just my anxiety feeding my brain
