    Hi,

Yes, they send the forms around 8 months before the end date.

There's such a large backlog it won't actually be completed for at least another few months.

You should still give the same detail as before. Don't just put 'no change'.

The descriptors are the same as they were 5 years ago so in theory you should get the same award if your conditions are still the same.

Face to face is still very rare, if they do want to speak to you it will usually be over the phone.

@OverlyAnxious ye I put all my stuff I put in last time so is it normally a few months before they actually go through the review do they normally go with the first award of my pip form do they call every time or do they sometimes just award it as they spoke to me previously on my first pip award if that’s the case why do they just not award it for longer?

hi. My award was supposed to end the beginning of this month. I got my review papers last September. Filled them all in again, sent my evidence (doctors letter, occupational therapy report etc) and I got a text this week saying my review was complete. No assessment needed and I’ve been awarded the same as previous award. Good luck

Yes, it'll be several months before anything happens. But you do still need to return the form before the deadline, otherwise PIP can be stopped automatically.

The review is treated like a new claim. But the assessors can look at your old forms as well. Most people do get phone calls during the review. Some people get paper based assessments, as with the post above, and my own was paper-based as well. There's no way of knowing what type you'll get. Just have to wait and see if they call you or send an appointment.

They don't usually go with the old award, some award gets upgraded (like mine), others get downgraded, some people lose PIP altogether. That's why it's important to put all the detail again, to hopefully stop them doing that.

The award length is based on whether the assessor thinks that your conditions might change after 3 years or 5 years for example. You can ask for a longer award this time if your condition are not likely to change.
