in Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

Hi,

Does anyone know if DWP automatically inform HMRC of the paymentsI have been paid for Newstyle ESA support group , these are on shown on my P60U that I have been sent in the post from DWP.

My Hmrc on line account shows everything else relating to the tax year april 2024 to April 2025 except for data about my Esa payments. I should be due a tax refund for that tax year but it's not been dealt with yet, HMRC said on the phone that are waiting for this esa information to be sent to them from Dwp.

    Hi,

    Yes, ESA should automatically send that info to HMRC.

    As the end of the tax year is the same for everyone, I guess the DWP end up with a large backlog at this time of year. You could phone ESA to check whether there's an issue and if they can give you a rough timescale from now.

    This is the first experience of esa and hmrc as I only started to get esa in October 2024 , ill give it until mid June then if nothing happens ill ring.
