UC appointment at job centre

Hi, some advice please. The appointment at the job centre next week is our first appointment it is to confirm our id. What else will we have to do? My hubby should be put into the LCWRA group because he is in the ESA support group. I get carers allowance and I will be taking my letter I had the other week as proof, I've been on carers allowance for about 20 years. How do I apply for the carers element? Tyia

When you filled out the UC application you should have reported that you are hubbys carer (as you get CA I'm assuming he gets a qualifying benefit).
That should be all you need to do to apply for Carers Element.
There may be the odd piece of information you are asked for (via Journal To Do list), but otherwise after you confirm ID you sit tight and wait for your first payment statement.

I had the same thing I’m in the lcwra group and my partner is living with cancer and undergoing regular chemotherapy, neither of us drive and I can’t use public transport, so they sent someone out to do the Id proofs. All we had to do was make sure that we were both here and that we had the correct documents ready. She came and went in 15 minutes.
Job done!

Well I thought I would update you. We attended the JC id check yesterday and went really well. The lady was really amused by how much I had turned up with lol. I did ask a question which I knew the answer to but needed confirmation and they couldn't answer me lol they didn't no know how to help me what's all that about. Anyway Ty again for all your help especially kimmy87

Oh yes also kimmy87 I didn't put my health down because hubby would be put into the LCWRA group but she told us both we would not have any work commitments and wouldn't have to attend the JC again.

Thank you for the update @snuggles65 and the kind words about @Kimi87. I'm very pleased that it sounds like things were very straight forward.
