We are looking at a social housing bungalow on Tuesday , it has a lovely front garden , I think must have a back garden too , as there is a gate and then another gate to the left which i assume is the back garden , I cannot wait to see the plants in the back . Once I know and once we move in I may need advice on what are weeds , although some weeds (wildflowers) are beautiful . I hope there is a tree there too as i like grounding myself on trees to rebalance me .
So roll on Tuesday :)

Hi @sarah_lea12 Good luck on Tuesday. I hope it is what you want. Fingers crossed.
Take care.

kezwals, "The wildflowers are still seeds but my other flowers have mostly grown but I don't know which ones are weeds"
Some say weeds are just plants in the wrong places! Their flowers are important for wildlife and can be pretty too.
Many weeds have shallow roots and will come out with a little tug. That's one indicator. Dandelions have deep roots and take more work. Never use toxic weedkiller. Weeds can be removed or smothered.

Thank you so much , I will post the outcome . Take care also .

asking for a friend is 30 dahlias enough 😎
3 -
Are you sure? How many dahlias do you have? 😉

haha ermmmmm 30 dawnie counted them was 29 but in my defence she said one the same would look nice on the other side of the garden so i snuck out with my son and got another to match it 😇

Only if you have at least 1 Ornamental Cabbage per row.

haha you and your ornamental cabbages

Your back will then say "thank you" for the manual weaving.

So bend your knees not your back!
A simple rake could disturb the weeds if raised beds aren't an option.

Unfortunately, your advice is only good for physically healthy people. You can't reliably remove weeds from your garden beds with a rake.

I agree. All it will do is kill them but unless it releases pollen then it's harmless left on the soil, isn't it? You could use a hoe or foot to squash them too, smother with sand or stones. They can only germinate under light.
I no longer have a garden but they always need maintenance. Weeding is very satisfying, I remember!

Weeds always need to have their roots removed. Every root. This can only be done well by hand. At the same time, both your legs and back must be healthy. You don't take into account that they can hurt a lot. For example, I stopped cultivating the soil in the garden a long time ago.

The weeds grow so fast too

This where we walk daily , a beautiful deer with some poppies . There are more poppies further up the lane but the deer just wanted to stay here .
