I like all animals but unfortunately and on a very modest pension and pet insurance has gone so crazy high that I won't be getting another pet after my dog dies (which may be this year as she has a growth in the mouth 😭).

Hi @BroughAndy Welcome to the Community. I am sorry your dog has a growth in her mouth. I hope she is able to live the best life she can for the time she has left.
Please take care of yourself.

Very kind bluebell. For the moment she's eating well and has pretty normal energy. But she's being to make some strange noises occasionally and starts panting after she wakes up as if a little short breath so it must be beginning to trouble her.
fine. I am fine because I'm very realistic about the prognosis.

I've grown up around dogs so my answer will always be dogs, but I love all pets. I even had an African Land Snail at one point, he (although was never sure of his real sex!) was actually really cute. To me anyway, not sure everyone finds snails cute 😁
Sorry to hear your dog might be living her last years @BroughAndy, hope she's comfy enough and you get a bit more time with her.
