in Universal Credit (UC)

Hi,

We migrated to UC on the 27th may 25 and I mentioned on my journal that we needed an extra bedroom. No response. Today I mentioned it again and I had to fill a form stating when and why we needed the extra bedroom. When we were on housing benefit we got the extra room. How long do they take to make a decision? And if it comes back that's it's been declined where do we go from there?

    You can request a Mandatory Reconsideration of the decision if they turn you down, this will be referred to a Decision Maker.

    If they still say no, you can request an independent appeal tribunal hearing.

    Just looked at my journal they told me it's gone to a decision maker. Is that a good thing?

    That's normal procedure 😊

    You can still request a MR then appeal if needed.

    Just let you know had a message on our journal we have been granted an extra bedroom. So all our rent will be paid. Just got to wait on hubby's review for pip which we sent back Jan 25 and ends aug 25. Do you know how long reviews are we are in Staffordshire?
