edited June 8 in Universal Credit (UC)

Hi πŸ‘‹ sorry to reach out here I migrated from esa SG with SDP in January to uc , my uc first payment was 440 in January February march then 420 in April and may is 410 , I see my TP has decreased from 230 to 190 ! Does this mean that's it now every month my UC is going to be less and less until the 190 TP has gone to zero because that will mean my UC monthly payments will only be 200 and a something,🀷, am 43 and confused and worried it says UC monthly for my age is 400 a month min 😭🀷, any help out there please πŸ™ πŸ‘

TP decreased because UC award increased from April.

Total amount of UC before April and from April - will be same.

RBZ , sorry I didn't understand the answer ,I no my TP is decreased because of the April award , but I'm asking is that it now does my UC keep getting lowered every month by 10 or 20 pounds because it was stable for Jan Feb and March at 444 then April it was lowered to 422 obviously because of yearly UC increase , but then my next payment of UC on Thursday is 412 ! , so is it going to be 402, next month then 392 and so on until my TP is down to zero which it's currently at 190, ? Its confusing me because I thought the minimum UC monthly award for single male over 25 is 400, 🀷 so how will my UC be only 200 a month , ????? Does anyone understand what I'm getting at please , πŸ™ πŸ‘

Hi @jim100 - the TP will only reduce if your UC increases (such as with the annual increase), & should only go down by the amount of any future increase.

@chiarieds hi πŸ‘‹ I know this but apart from my yearly UC increase award , nothing else has changed since April when the awards went up, but my UC award is getting lower every month first in April from 440 previous months, to 422, and now on this coming Thursday it's 412 pounds. I understand that I was on 440 in January February march, with 230 TP then the TP obviously dropped to 210 and also the UC was then 420 , but now my statement for Thursday says 410 , give or take and my TP is obviously 190 I think. What I am asking is , can anybody tell me , because the UC increase award in April ,has that started the monthly UC deduction clock and if so is my UC going to be around 200 pounds in about a year . Because if it is then am confused because it says the minimum universal credit award is 400 for adult over 25 , so how can I be only getting 200 a month when the TP does go to zero. Please πŸ™ only respond if you can answer or understand my questions , as I believe I've been under the wrong impression how this all works

    Please see the regulations about this 55 (2) c : https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/1230/regulation/55

The sum of your UC + TP should remain the same, as illustrated in the regs (until your TP eventually erodes to Β£0).

Are there any other deductions such as the paying back of an advance? If not, then you'll need to query why the actual amount of your UC has decreased instead of increaing.
