Mandatory pip reconsideration

Hi iv been waiting months for my mandatory reconsideration decision from pip and today got a call just checking over a few of the questions and was told a decision would be made today and if they up my money would I be ok with a back dated amount in one lump sum or spread out payments. What usually happens next? Do I get a text before the decision letter so I know the decision is made and the letter has gone out. Or do I just wait for the letter?

Hi @Jam84 - I don't think you get another text, just the decision letter. If the decision is being made today, you could try ringing up on Friday (first thing in the morning you'd hopefully get through quicker) asking what the decision is, as it can take 24 hours for it to be updated to their screens. You can also check your bank balance to see if you've received any money! Fingers crossed for you, & it would be great if you'd let us all know how you get on.

Thankyou. The fact he asked if I could manage a back payment made me hopeful but then I think they probably ask everyone that maybe?. Just a waiting game yet again! They love giving us anxiety!! Il update! Fingers crossed 🤞

Yes I have.

Did you get your back payment before you received the decision letter? Waiting 7 to 10 days is annoying wish they would just tell us after we have waited long enough already!!

No I got it after I received the decision letter.

Yes, I’ve won 2 mandatory reconsiderations for PIP! The 1st one was way way back and got me standard daily living. Recently I protested the length of my award and they increased it from 4 to 10 years. I didn’t get a text to say a decision had been made - a letter just turned up
