Hi all dear friends. I need information about carer element.

My wife been awarded 15may and I inform UC so they add carer element in my this month statement but it's not backdated. Please guide me how I can get backdated carer element as my wife awarded pip from October 2024. Regards

    Hi @dil786 there is potential to have up to 3 months backdated carers allowance on the condition you've met the requirements within that period. You'll need to contact DWP to request this. 🙂

    Thnx. I didn't apply carer allowance yet. I was asking about carer element? Carer element been added in my this month statement of UC but not backdated. I m confused what to do?

    Hi,

    The first thing to do is simply to put a message on your journal asking for it to be backdated.

    If they refuse then you can appeal through Mandatory Reconsideration.
