Advice when cancelling PIP

I'm after some help regarding cancelling my PIP…
I've made the request by phone and have been sent the forms, however I'm uncertain how to answer the questions that ask 'when did the changes occur'.
I'm worried that if they think I've 'suddenly' recovered they'll say I owe them previous payments back.
For some things it's been a very gradually improving and for some it's still not perfect. But I really couldn't give a date or specific time period, it's more that 'overall' I'm better than I was.
I'm basically able to now financially support myself and just want to cancel it. But I'm worried I'll be fined or investigated for fraud!
Has anyone any experience of what happens or how I should answer the questions?
thanks

Are you certain you would no longer qualify for PIP and wish to cancel your claim @Kelstar960?
If there is space on the form, I would put the date you called for the forms and then write some of what you've put here, explaining you have been improving slowly over time but called for the forms when you had improved reliably.

Thanks, that's reassuring advice.
I like the word 'reliably' it sums up the situation perfectly.
much appreciated.
