Hi, my name is ccs1996!

Hello everyone, first time poster here, I've just recieved an email 20 minutes ago from:
"DWP Consultation Pathways To Work • consultation.pathwaystowork@dwp .gov.uk"
It was regarding the answers I gave to the consultation and was wondering if anyone else had one and if it's genuine? I won't go into specifics but they said due to my answers that it had raised concerns and that they want to make sure I am receiving the correct treatment and if not they can signpost me to somewhere that can.
Sorry for the long-winded post.
Kindest regards,
Cam

Hey — good on you for being cautious, especially with emails that seem official.
If the message came from consultation.pathwaystowork@dwp .gov.uk, it could be genuine, especially if you recently filled in a government consultation about disability or benefits — but I’d still double-check.
✅ Don’t click any links or download attachments just yet.
✅ Forward the email to phishing@dwp .gov.uk — that’s the DWP’s fraud checking team. They’ll confirm if it’s real.
✅ If you did take part in a consultation and mentioned mental health, they may be trying to offer support — but it’s good to confirm before doing anything else.
Let us know what you hear back — you’re not alone in this! 👊
Here is also an email you can send to check Absolutely — here’s a message they can copy and paste when forwarding the email to phishing@dwp .gov.uk to check if it’s genuine:
Subject: Verification Request – Possible Phishing Email from consultation.pathwaystowork@dwp .gov.uk
Dear DWP Security Team,
I recently received the following email from:
consultation.pathwaystowork@dwp .gov.uk
on [insert date and time here].
The email mentioned a DWP consultation I may have taken part in and stated that my responses raised concerns, and that they may be able to signpost me to support services.
I wanted to check with you directly whether this is a genuine communication from the Department for Work and Pensions or a possible phishing/scam attempt.
I have not clicked on any links or opened any attachments.
Please could you confirm whether this email is safe and legitimate?
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,
[Your First Name or Initials]

Hi @ccs1996, we've had a couple of people report these emails coming through recently. As far as we're aware, they're genuine and appear to be part of their Safeguarding process to connect people with support.
However, you are under no obligation to share your details with them if you don't want to or don't feel safe doing so.
