Pip

Hello,
My sister has been awarded low rate pip 6 weeks ago after a year of waiting for any response from pip, she had telephone Assesment and explained all her problems and how they affect her daily, she thinks she should qualify for low rate mobility too, how does can she go about requesting them re-look at things? Please. She only got the letter last week as they sent it to wrong address even tho she’d given her new address a few times.
Thank you.

A Mandatory Reconsideration is the first step, this will be explained within the letter your sister has received.

Hi @dannistar this Scope webpage Appealing a benefits decision | Disability charity Scope UK might be helpful. It's important the mandatory reconsideration is submitted within a calendar month from the date on your decision letter. There's some links on the webpage to benefits advisor charities that might be able to support you with the process as well. Wishing you the best with it. Please let us know how you get on if you're happy to 🙂

Thank you it’s for my sister, she only got her letter last week as they sent it to the wrong address but the date on letter is 21/5/25 so over a month but her reason for late MR would be her not receiving letter?

Will they look at the whole claim again or only for the bits she doesn’t agree with ? @Holly_Scope

There's potential that they'll review the full claim in it's entirety, yes. It might be worth contacting somewhere like Citizens Advice or Advicelocal as they're well versed in the processes, often helping people going through the same situation so they'll be able to talk through the process with you in a bit more detail 😊
