Undiagnosed condition causing anxiety
it’s been a while since I posted on Scope forum which I see as a positive. But I am anxious and want to share and see what advice people may have
I have had medical issues all my life, currently diagnosed as anxiety and depression, dyslexia, a rumbling disk, and no diagnosis for chronic pain, low energy, and poor mobility.
But after years I’m wondering if the diagnosis are wrong and in the next 12 months I hope to see a psychologist with the NHS to loo at ADHD, fibromyalgia or other causes that are not just labelling it anxiety and depression
Additionally my lower back pain isn’t just pain, my body locks up, and after an hour of walking or sitting or standing I freeze up painfully, I now fear going out for the day, I avoid holidays and I’m im a nice rut working mostly from home where I’m up and down and up and down and stretching and stretching and by 5 o’clock I’m ready for bed.
I wonder how others manage? I wonder if I need to get a wheelchair and get used to using it so I am not feeling stuck at home.
I’ve invested in so many heated massagers and vibrating pads to keep me going in meetings, and driving, and when I do go out for the day.
I’m using ACT to manage my depression and anxiety and to help accept life as it is, and it’s working, I feel a lot less anxious or depressed. But in hate pain and it is turning me into a shut in, and into a habit of 9 hour days, all of it working. And then sleep.
I’m not even able to enjoy watching a film… I’m worried it is hurting my relationship (long distance) as I don’t visit them.
im just tired. So tired.
so if this is also you any advice is great, what tools, hobbies, mantra do you have to recharge your batteries and keep you going?
Thanks

Lego. It's not just for kids. A nice big Lego kit is great for silencing the mind for hours. I especially like Lego Technic as I'm mechanically minded.
My mantra - You know why my username is Wheeled_Weapon? I never call myself that out loud, it's like a mantra to me. If I'm feeling low or feel like giving up, I just think "The Wheeled Weapon wouldn't give up, not with a name like that!" It's silly, I know, but it has got me through so much.

Why? Stick around and join in with other conversations, especially the silly ones. You don't need to visit here only if you have a problem/issue. Pass the time and enjoy a bit banter.

I'm an active wheelchair user, I'm out almost every day. But on days where I'm not out, I like to sit outside. Get some extra vitamin D soaked in.
I will say that of course you're allowed to use a wheelchair even if you're ambulatory (plenty do), but I will say that manual wheelchairs, especially none active chairs are quite physical, but it may be worth you investigating and trying it out. If not, then power chairs would also be an option. My only worry is that an incorrectly fitted chair may exacerbate your physical issues.

Thanks wheeled_weapon, cool name, I really need to learn to be more creative in how I see myself, even my gamer tag is my own name.
I do need to stick around more, and read what others are up to.
