They take as long as they want, unfortunately.

The DWP do not acknowledge the request but will carry out the MR in their own time and eventually inform you of the decision

I chased up my MR with DWP by phone and they said it was in a queue. Think I received MR decision about three or four weeks after I put in request but queues probably longer now.

Whether we like it or not only 20% (Disabilty Rights figures) of MRs succeed. Strong new evidence can help an MR succeed. There is also the route @wildlife has outlined on another thread - asking DM at DWP to reconsider MR.

I didn't know about this route at the time anyway so I went to Tribunal where I was awarded enhanced both components, up from standard both components.

DM is the Decision Maker at the DWP also known as a case manager

    thanks  Cr

so you can also ask that the  request  for mandatory review also goes to DM?

my partner was failed  for mobility as he  struggle to get 35 metres to  interviewers room

    so automatically rejected.

although he  told her  he was struggling-she offers  no where to sit-and kept saying its only a few paces  more-so he had no  choice but to  struggle in great pain.

We then sent to mandatory consideration- 1.new  physio report which says he cant manage more than  10 metres dues to broken hip and necrosis of the  spine

    2.with consults evidence

asked our MP to pick up the case-as he  ethics  sound lousy

The MR should go to a different DM to the one that made the first decision. They may also send the file back to the assessment provider if new medical evidence is sent, as DM's don't have medical knowledge so rely heavily on the HCP report. The assessment provider and their HCP are employed as the DWP "experts" which is why they place so much importance on their report.

Its strange that all pips interviewers claim they have no sway in any decision makers  decision

    which is of course nonsense

    but  who is the HCP
