Do you still choose hot food and drinks when it's hot outside?

Having just sweated through a bowl of steaming hot pasta while it's 33 degrees outside, it struck me that maybe I'd made a mistake with my lunchtime choices. So I think I'll be pootling off to Tesco tomorrow to grab some salad. Probably just in time for the rain to come back ๐Ÿ˜‚

But I'm just interested to know what everyone else is doing:

Do you stick to the same hot meals when it's hot or do you swap out to something lighter and cooler?

What about things like tea and coffee? Some people say it cools them down but I'm not sure I'm convinced on that! Do you still go for a hot drink when it's warm outside?

I am back on Wiltshire Farm Foods, so it's the same regardless of the weather. I dropped a pan of boiled potatoes the other day, am not really safe cooking.

It's 23C here, and 61% humidity. I am as hot as I every want to be.

@Rosie_Scope that made me laugh! People living in hot countries eat hot food all the time. I have eaten ice pops, frozen sliced bananas, a honeydew melon, a (cold) pain au chocolat and drunk water. I couldn't boil an egg let alone cook pasta! I did walk through and around Tesco yesterday just to keep cool. Bought a bag of ice.

I eat the same food but usually when drinking something it'll be cold with ice cubes in it.

On the rare occasion I'll still have a hot coffee, tea, or Bovril.

How do you get on with Wiltshire Farm Foods @Ranald, are they tasty?

@Legwax that's the thing isn't it! Places like India often eat hot curries and other spicy dishes all the time and here's me complaining about my pasta ๐Ÿ˜‚

Do you just eat the frozen banana in the shape it comes or do you cut it up? I've made 'ice cream' out of frozen bananas before but I haven't ever tried it just straight up in the natural banana shape.

@Ross1975, that's a good way to do it. A cool drink makes all the difference I think!

I can't cook. I depend on ready meals. Knowing it was going to be very hot this week, I bought in cold meat and fish and loads of salad stuff. I'll have chilled potato salad this evening. I still drink green tea, hot or cold, all day long.

Very true @michael57, I'm sure I'll be complaining that it's too cold in a few months time!

That sounds tasty @Zipz, I love those kinds of salady meals.

Do you always drink it hot @trouble5316? I'm not very good with caffeine but I've been exploring decaf ice coffee lately, it's a nice change.

@Rosie_Scope Exactly, banana ice cream! I'm low maintenance so open, cut, chuck in a container, freeze. Eat like that! Slices freeze fast. I am also not sure about drinking hot drinks to cool down.

I hope everyone is managing if not enjoying the weather. Cooler outside so I will be going out in a bit. I love it but I know it can be uncomfortable.

Ooh yes that sounds refreshing @Legwax. I've whizzed it up with a bit of cocoa powder or even chocolate chips, that can be nice too. Think I'll have to be picking up some bananas tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜

Sounds like you're staying hydrated year round @Catherine21!

WFF ready meals are pretty decent, well some of them. You don't pierce the film, just place in microwave, straight out the freezer. (It takes nerves of steel not to intervene when they start to swell up). Some foods are just not suitable. After 15 minutes, mash can resemble chewing gum. I just pick what I imagine will survive being nuked for many minutes!

Never, never bit WFF cocktail sausages or stuffing ball. It's enough to damage your jaws.. and one of mine is dodgy anyway. Imagine writing on a DWP form that you'd met with an accident when eating a ready meal.

I have much less of an appetite in hot weather although sadly doesnt help my weight.
I find a I have a much higher desire for chilled drinks as well.
Doesnt seem to affect cold food vs hot food on my intake.

I lose my appetite in hot weather too @worried33, end up not fancying stuff!!

I'd eat a hot meal in hot weather but making it and having an even hotter kitchen is awful so I tend to pick and graze if I get hungry ๐Ÿ˜†

Although being real, I do that in winter too, cooking is a lot of effort!!
