Hi everybody.

Just a bit of background. My daughters been on DLA since she was 2. A lot of illness in the family 3 of us with Autoimmune Disease, Autism, ADHD, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy etc and it feels like I spend my life filling out forms.

As I'm getting older, the stress of these is really getting to me. In the last year alone I've had to do my Pip application, my sons DLA change of circumstances and my daughter has had to change from DLA to PIP. And all the other UC moves/Council drama that never ends.

I don't have another fight left in me. So I rang for the report and the Assessor has scored her enough points to have Enhanced on Daily Care and Mobility. However I was really angry one some of the questions as they've given her nothing which just isn't true. I called up after receiving report and we decided to wait for result before I start questioning it as I didn't want to lose what could be potentially Enhanced on both.

However today I have called up and the Automated line has said I'm getting £615.90 on the 22nd August. This amount just doesn't add up to 4 weeks of anything? I've tried all variables and HRC+LRM HRC+HRM LRC+HRM LRC+LRM doesn't add up to that amount.

I've spoke to two advisors, neither will tell me the result and I just can't bear waiting 2 weeks to find out I have another fight on my hands.

The amount is closest to LRC+HRM. If it helps, on the automated line one time they asked me which rate I got of PIP and I said Enhanced mobility and they put me through. And another time I said Enhanced Daily care and they put me through. Or does this mean nothing?

I thought I finally had all of our finances sorted and I could start trying to look after myself a bit more (late diagnosed AuDHD) but I don't think this will be the case. Anyone shed any light to calm some of this anxiety?

oh and I thought maybe there was some overlap with her DLA why the payment was different, but I’ve checked my bank and she was due her DLA today and it wasn’t paid. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

    Hi,

There isn't an overlap between DLA & PIP. This is not a 'migration' in the same way that ESA to UC is.

The first month of PIP doesn't have to be exactly 4 weeks. PIP is calculated to the individual day. So you might be able to calculate it more accurately knowing that? I'm afraid there isn't really a better way to confirm the award than just waiting for the letter though.

hi, thanks for your response. I did try to calculate it for the day, but not sure if my figures were right as there were a lot of decimals. It would be easier if I knew when her DLA was ending. However I was supposed to be paid yesterday and we didn’t receive it. Nor today. So now I’m petrified we have lost everything.
I know it sounds dramatic - and being autistic I have a tendency to catastrophise. But the last 8 years have been brutal with forms and stress, 2 evictions and having to set things up again and again. I’m just coming out of burnout and was praying it was over and I could try and look after myself a bit more too. The kids take so much care and support there’s never any time left for me and what I need. Sorry and thanks for letting me get it off my chest! Don’t really have anyone to talk to.

UC got in touch saying they couldn’t verify my daughter’s claim. I had to call DLA twice and be on hold for an hour then got hung up on. Anyway managed to speak to someone at PIP who told me my DLA is still active, the payment will be on the 8th. Then my PIP will be active from the 30th. I managed to work out 23 days worth of money, times it by 28 and got the total of 749 something. So I think they have awarded Enhanced for both. Thanks for all your help.
