Got a Fitbit

Sadly not Scarlett Johansson but the fitness tracker thingy -
There's no options for wheelchair, but 'run' and 'walk' work fine for tracking exercise - The irony amuses me. Plus you can set it to prioritise distance over steps. I leave the screen off because I wear a mechanical watch on my left wrist. I've only had it a few days but I like it because It's telling me I'm really fit 🤣
So today I had an easy day because I've been pushing (lol) myself hard lately. I had a look around Sunderland and Mowbray park.
Didn't stop at any pubs, only had one pint in the last 10 days.
Got off the bus at Lumley on the way home to let a woman with a powerchair on. I wasn't in a hurry to be anywhere, plus it was nice to get off the bus and stretch my arms 🤣
So I nipped over the road to the Co-op and waited for the next bus eating peppered cooked beef from the packet(s).
Back home now chilling with Sweep
And no, I didn't save him any beef but he's got ham in the fridge for later.

I love my smart watch and phone, cheapo version. I can walk , max 5 minutes of treadmill , but I have 100% walking asymmetry. I’m quite proud of that! I’m also pretty good at sleeping. I haven’t tried outside in my wheelchair, I’ll give it a go

Great to see you back @Wheeled_Weapon! I've been wondering where you've been exploring 😀

The whole smartwatch thing is great, turns fitness into a bit of a game.

That's just me, I disappear for a while then return. I'm the same IRL. Kind of like a man of mystery but really just avoidant AF 🤣
I've been a bit boring with the exploring lately. Been sticking to two different routes I like purely for fitness.
Was nice to have a change of pace today in Sunderland.

#Hi Wheeled Weapon,
Thank you for sharing the great photos! You obviously know where to get some super shots!
All this technology to remind you how fit you are but you still need a conventional watch to tell you the time! Mind you, I have enough trouble with technology and much prefer things that I can understand how to work. I still can't work out all the wizardry on my oven! I prefer a watch that just tells me the time and has no complicated additional functions that I can't fathom how to use. Sorry to be a boring individual but there you are, that is just the way I am.
Pleased that you are able to get about and enjoy life!

@Wheeled_Weapon Watch, watch, on my wrist. Who is the fittest of them all? Ya big narcissist! ;-)

It's great isn't it? It's the second watch I've owned that actually worships me 🤣

Not so much a need as it is a want. I have a small collection of mechanical watches, hand wound & automatic. One of them is 58 years old (1967 Seiko Bell-Matic) and still working great.
I've always preferred to wear a real mechanical watch over a quartz or a digital.

@Wheeled_Weapon Good for you joining the fitness tracker community!
I started with a Fitbit watch, but I felt like they were wrong to charge extra for the app. I now have a cheap fitness tracker watch with all the bells and whistles of their expensive counterparts, but the app is Free. Their are many watch faces to choose from. Prior to that I had a Garmin sports watch, but it’s definitely for the more active person. I bought mine on the Alibaba app. Just check for Verified sellers. My watch records absolutely everything and was around £24 with shipping. It is almost identical to the Samsung watch but £400 cheaper!
You can’t beat the Chinese for value! I love your photos. They’re absolutely lovely 🥰

#Hi Wheeled Weapon,
Thank you for sharing your interest with watches and collection. My late Grandfather used to 'dabble' and do repairs as a hobby, he also had a very small collection. Was the Seiko you mentioned an original purchase or one for your collection that still works?
As I said, I'm 'old fashioned' and do not do tech, so prefer my analogue Timex. My first watch was a Timex (when I was about 7years old!) and whilst over the years I've had several watches, I like my Timex, prefer a sweep second hand (essential for Nursing) and the modern versions have the useful back light but apart from that they have remained the same. I also have a couple of 'dress' watches for 'special' occasions but rarely have the need to wear either of them.
Look forward to seeing your next photos, you do manage to find some interesting and pretty places to capture. Another short lived 'hobby' I once had but like everything else, I couldn't get to grips with it and still have difficulty using the 'dreaded' Smart Phone that has taken me years to try to use basic functions!
I know totally 'hopeless' with tech. One day I might find something that I can be half 'good' at.
Enjoy your adventures today, I'm sure you will not want to be indoors whilst the weather is so kind at the moment. I'm assuming of course that where you are in the north, that the weather is 'behaving'. At the moment we have pleasant sunshine with no wind. My big adventure today is to go into Town to drop off prescription requests and deliver new requests plus shop for a few essential items. I can drive but my walking is limited due to the arthritic conditions and declining mobility as a result of that and a 'collapsing' spine, prevents me from going far or indeed getting out into the garden to tidy it up a bit. I'm not a gardener either! Although, I used to be able to keep it reasonable respectable and do have a couple of Hydrangea plants in tubs that I try to nurture.
Have a Good day!

That watch is 12 years older than me 😄

Finally got out today. Weather was glorious, sunbathed in the graveyard for a bit before heading home.

#Wheeled Weapon,
Hi, I've forgotten when the watch was made. I think you said it is over fifty years (fifty- eight years, if memory serves?). It still looks in pristine condition, do you ever wear it?
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful photos. It is nice to see another part of the Country that I might never get to see for myself! I do hope you didn't get sunburned whilst sunbathing in the graveyard.
I'm off shortly to collect my 12year old Grandson to take him to his school's Day Out. The school cannot lay on transport and my son doesn't drive, so Mum / Nan does the honours! It means leaving extra early to travel the 18 miles or so to take him about half way to my home to the venue then do the reverse this afternoon! Oh well, it's a day out and doing something useful and less mundane than doing the housework!
Hope you get out and enjoy your day, don't forget the sunblock!
