Hi, my name is christian1973! How easy is it to transfer my benefits from the UK to NI?

Hello everyone
I am moving to northern Ireland from England in a few months and currently get PIP, ESA and UC. I also have a motability car.
Does anyone know if I can transfer everything as a straight forward change of address when I get there and continue to get everything?

    Heya @christian1973 and welcome to the community.

    As far as I'm aware, it would just be a change of address, though I believe ESA would be migrated to UC straight away. I'd recommend speaking to the DWP, or the Dept for communities, which is the Irish version of the DWP.

    Hi,

    As you get both UC & ESA, that must be New Style ESA, so will not be migrated to UC.

    The benefits should just be a simple case of changing addresses and providing proof of new housing costs to UC if applicable.

    I'm not sure how easy it is to import a car from England to NI now though. Might be worth contacting Motability to check how that works since Brexit.
