Hi, my name is christian1973! How easy is it to transfer my benefits from the UK to NI?
Hello everyone
I am moving to northern Ireland from England in a few months and currently get PIP, ESA and UC. I also have a motability car.
Does anyone know if I can transfer everything as a straight forward change of address when I get there and continue to get everything?
Thanks in advance

Heya @christian1973 and welcome to the community.
As far as I'm aware, it would just be a change of address, though I believe ESA would be migrated to UC straight away. I'd recommend speaking to the DWP, or the Dept for communities, which is the Irish version of the DWP.0 -
Many thanks

Hi,
As you get both UC & ESA, that must be New Style ESA, so will not be migrated to UC.
The benefits should just be a simple case of changing addresses and providing proof of new housing costs to UC if applicable.
I'm not sure how easy it is to import a car from England to NI now though. Might be worth contacting Motability to check how that works since Brexit.
