In pain

I'm sure some of you have seen previous posts by myself.

I'm currently waiting for surgery for my second case of cancer. I'm in constant pain & cannot keep anything down. I've been to a&e as instructed by my GP, who gave me some anti sickness & sent me on my way.

It's so hard to be in so much pain all the time. It keeps me awake at night & limits my ability to do even small tasks.

I currently have 4 different pain medication, none of which even touch the pain I'm in.

I feel quite ready just to give it all up. This is no life.

I don't know what to say to you, hmass01. Life can be really hard sometimes, and it can seem like nobody understands our difficulties.

So sorry to hear about your pain. I hope you have a support network around you to help?

Keep in contact with your GP. They should come up with a longer term solution for your pain or refer you to a cancer team that can help. A&E shouldn't be the only answer.

    Also. Rest up.

My favourite question for the really dark days is….what can i do to make myself feel 1% better?

I'm so sorry to hear this we are always here if you like to chat understand the feeling of carrying on some days seems unbearable and other days not so bad I do not suffer from physical pain and I can imagine it being very draining and overwhelming do you have someone to talk to any support

I'm sorry to read what's going on with you, @hmass01. I know how you feel but for different reasons. Constant pain is awful & debilitating, add sickness too & you're not in a good place. Have you called Macmillan Cancer Support? As they will understand what you're going through & can support & advise you. If you haven't, it's worth a call, their number is 0808 808 0000

Take care of yourself, but give them a call.

    Hi, that sounds very difficult.

Can you ask to speak to the Macmillan Nurse or nurse specialist at oncology? Also speak to macmillan helpline which someone else has suggested.

I've found with pain, sometimes you have to push it a bit to make them understand and tell them if its unbearable.
